Play what you love

There can be so much excitement when someone who has always wanted to play piano finally gets into a program, and starts placing their fingers on the keys. After a while though, they cannot understand why the excitement might not be sustained. Learning the rules, finding the notes, play in the correct tempo requires concentration and practice.

The most important issue  in learning to play, is to decide whether you want to be a professional concert pianist, to accompany a choir, to play at a piano bar, to sing with your family while you play, to play in a band, or just to be able to play popular songs. Each of these options needs a different approach and you need to work with that approach so you can stay motivated and achieve your goal.

You will only stick to your program if you play what you love
